Pricing

How Indian inference pricing works

Indian inference pricing is usually quoted in INR per 1 million tokens. Providers separate input, cached input, and output because the cost of reading a long prompt is different from the cost of generating a long answer. Input covers the prompt and any retrieved context. Cached input covers repeated prompt prefixes that the provider can reuse. Output covers the generated answer, including reasoning tokens on reasoning models.

The spread is wide. Small open models such as Gemma 4 E4B and Qwen3.5 9B start at ₹3 per 1M input tokens on Krutrim. Frontier models such as DeepSeek V4.1 Flash and GLM 5.3 Flash start lower on input but charge more for output. A cheap input rate is not a cheap workload if the answer is long.

Most Indian providers quote list prices in INR and exclude 18% GST. Some also publish a USD reference, which moves with the exchange rate. Cache rates are often 10% to 50% of the input rate, but not every provider publishes one. A dash means the provider does not list a cache price, not that caching is free.

Compare

How to compare Indian inference prices

Only model families with two or more Indian providers appear in the comparison. That keeps the table apples to apples. A single-provider family is a price, not a comparison.

List rates are in INR per 1M tokens. Input covers the prompt, cached input covers reused prompt prefixes, and output covers the generated answer. The workload calculator lets you set input tokens, output tokens, and a cache hit rate, then compares the actual bill.

USD is a normalization reference, not a second price. Prices exclude 18% GST where applicable. A dash means the provider does not publish a cache rate.

What moves the bill

GST, currency, and cached input

01

INR list rates

Indian providers quote in INR. The directory keeps the local rate visible and uses USD only for normalization. Prices exclude 18% GST where applicable.

02

Cache reads

Cached input is billed when a request reuses a prompt prefix. A dash means the provider does not publish a cache rate, not that caching is free.

03

Reasoning tokens

Reasoning tokens are billed as output on reasoning models. Compare the total workload cost, not just the input rate.

Questions

India inference pricing FAQ

How much does inference cost in India?

Text model input rates start at ₹3 per 1M tokens on Krutrim. Frontier input starts at ₹4.35 per 1M tokens on E2E Networks Blaze. Output rates range from ₹7.73 per 1M tokens to more than ₹1,000 for large frontier models.

Which Indian inference provider is cheapest?

It depends on the workload. Krutrim has the lowest input rate at ₹3 per 1M tokens. NeevCloud has the lowest output rate at ₹7.73 per 1M tokens. E2E Networks Blaze has the lowest frontier output rate at ₹24.18 for GLM 5.3 Flash.

Are Indian inference prices in INR or USD?

Most Indian providers quote list prices in INR. The directory keeps INR visible and shows USD only as a normalization reference.

Does GST apply to Indian inference prices?

List prices usually exclude 18% GST where applicable. Check the provider invoice for the final billed amount.

What does a dash in the cached input column mean?

The provider does not publish a cache-read rate. It does not mean caching is free or unavailable.
